Klampenborg is a fancy place of Copenhagen. Expensive beach houses, classic collection cars and a nice beach - Bellevue Beach. It has up to 500.000 visitors per year, not as much as the more famous Amager beach. If you live in the north of the city, or you want to mix some beach time with a walk in the forest ("The Deer Park" is also in this area) , than it is a perfect choice. The lifeguard tower, designed by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen is the watermark of this beach. The beach appeared in 1930, when Gentofte municipality decided to transform a piece of coast into a resort and Arne Jacobsen was in charge of designing everything : lifeguard tower, bath cabins and the other building in the surrounding area.
