The Memorial of Rebirth, located in Revolution Square, commemorates the fights and victims of the Romanian Revolution of 1989, when Ceauşescu's era was ended. It was designed by Alexandru Ghilduş and inaugurated in August 2005. Most parts of the memorial were made of marble and the whole complex costed aproximately 1.5 mil. euro.
The name of the memorial it's a indirect reference to Romania's rebirth as a nation after the collapse of Communism.
