Old new Bucharest - The Triumphal Arch

The Triumphal Arch

The Triumphal Arch is symbolising the independence that Romania gained in 1878 and is also commemorating the heroes of World War I. It was designed by architect Petre Antonescu and built between 1921-1922. Its façades were sculpted by famous Romanian sculptors, such as Ion Jalea and Dimitrie Paciurea. The Triumphal Arch is located in the north of Bucharest, on Kiseleff Street.
