The new old Vasco da Gama

Vasco da Gama bridge, Lisbon

Dear friends, the last month was rather busy with a lovely holiday in Portugal and a sad trip in Romania. We captured thousands images in our Portugal visit, splitting the time between Lisbon and its magnificent architecture and the beautiful natural crations of God from Lagos, Algarve.
This image represents a wonderful piece of architecture, Vasco da Gama bridge. As the famous portuguese explorer was connecting Europe and India on a direct route, this bridge is joining the two banks of Tegus river, between Sacavem and Alcochete.
This is one of the very few attempts of long exposure in Lisbon, due to a total lack of clouds in the sky. The day we visited the modern part of Lisbon, the Parque das Nações, site of Expo '98, few shy clouds were sitting in the right place on the deep blue sky, giving us a chance for a long exposure shot. And the abstract look of the bridge was perfect for this. Hope you will like it!
